Our Team

Wouldn’t you rather do business with people who truly care about your projects? Wouldn’t you prefer a team that welcomes a complex challenge, works through the problems, and meets the deadlines because it’s just the way they do things? At the Print House, we consider our customers to be our colleagues.

We also want you to enjoy your relationship with our group. Here are some of the people you’ll meet as we work together:

Paul Doucette began his career as an airplane mechanic, but soon switched industries to become a technician for the A.B. Dick Company, a leading producer of printing equipment in the 1970s and 80s. He learned to love the industry and the people, and quickly moved from repairing machinery to selling it. In 1982, ready to venture out on his own, Paul purchased a small copy center on Huntington Avenue in the Longwood Medical Area of Boston. He renamed the company the Print House and opened for business in 1983.

The entire family pitched in to operate the new company in the early days, and Paul focused his attention on new clients. There was plenty of competition, but Paul differentiated the business with a “can do” attitude that set the stage for the company’s growth.

I like nothing better than to help a client plan and execute a successful project, whether it’s a mailing or an event or a new challenge that they’ve never done before.

While other printing companies were accepting orders, Paul focused on building relationships with customers. The Print House became a “go-to” resource for their clients, who knew that Paul would find a way to translate their ideas into reality. He attributes the continued success of the company to that focus and the capabilities that were developed in the process of solving problems and determining the best ways to meet the needs of a growing customer base.

Paul’s attitude was contagious and it became part of the company culture as employees came aboard.

I love coming to work in the morning to work with our great team, collectively solving problems and figuring out how to accomplish our customers’ goals. We provide them with excellent products and great service, but the most important thing is a positive attitude and a smile

Today, Paul is still very involved with clients on a daily basis, and stays in touch with emails, phone calls and personal visits to his customers. Retirement may be on the horizon in a few years, but he still loves the business he founded over 30 years ago.

Kathy Burke

Kathy Burke

Controller

Kathy Burke is a veteran with the Print House, first coming to the company in 1994. Prior to her work here, she managed her own business, doing freelance accounting for small companies. Kathy manages the books, but she says she likes to dabble. She stays involved in many areas of the business, including mailing, online ordering, and IT.

When I think of the Print House, I think of family. We’re a very close group of people. Many of us eat lunch together every day and we talk about what’s going on – what’s important to us. My rule is that work isn’t discussed, but it does drift in occasionally. During our family dinners, we get to know each other on a personal basis. We’re more than co-workers.

Kathy is the resident expert on mailing, and she enjoys talking with customers about the process. She can also answer questions about online ordering, and of course, the occasional accounting question that comes around.

Harry Poulton

Harry Poulton

Account Executive

LinkedIn New logo

Harry Poulton has spent his career in print sales, coming to the Print House in 2004, after 8 years with another printing firm. He’s seen a lot of growth during his years with our company, and has enjoyed selling the new products and services that seem to continually develop. Clients immediately recognize his enthusiasm and his excitement about the new possibilities that he finds every day.

I am in my element when I’m out of the office meeting people. Sometimes, I can’t believe that I’m actually being paid to make friends! No one likes to be “sold to,” so we don’t do it that way. The Print House is a mid-sized company, which means we’re large enough to provide our customers with anything they might need, but small enough to deliver the most incredible level of customer service. I enjoy getting to know everything about our customers – the people, the problems and opportunities, even the company colors and the details about the last project.

Tom Tetrault is another print industry veteran, who began his career as a paper salesman for Lindenmeyr Munroe Paper. He sold envelopes and printing papers to printers for more years than he will admit. He joined the team at the Print House in 2005.

I had a unique perspective on the Print House when I first joined the company. As one of their vendors for several years, I thought that you could tell a lot about a company by the way that they treat suppliers and employees. I had the advantage of seeing that before I joined the company. There’s a lot of comradery here. The team really likes each other – you see it in the lunchroom every day, but more important, in the way we challenge each other to get the job done for our clients.

The expansion of services at the Print House is exciting, and Tom thinks that enhanced mailing capabilities, distribution, and fulfillment provide some valuable opportunities for new and existing clients. He enjoys working with customers every day to find the best project solutions and to provide paper and print expertise.

Greg Doucette literally grew up in the printing business and recalls playing in the warehouse at the Print House as a kid. He has been selling for the company since 2011, but can’t remember a time when he didn’t have some job to do at the family business. As a salesperson, he especially enjoys finding new opportunities that will benefit another business, and the ability to get out of the office to build new relationships.

I have gained an incredible amount of experience through watching my father handle the diverse needs of our clients and the challenges of running a successful business. I am fortunate to have grown up with a strong support system, both personally and professionally with a great team surrounding me every day. I am very excited for the future of the Print House – recently we have invested in a new fulfillment center, updated our mailing equipment, and expanded our offering of promotional products. These investments have rejuvenated our energy as a company and as a sales force.

Art Hayden adds to the vast industry experience at the Print House, with his 20+ years in the print and ad specialty businesses. He previously partnered in the start-up of a print operation that incorporated promotional product sales long before this became popular. He has experience in many facets of the business, from prepress and production, to sales and customer service, which helps him to anticipate and quickly respond to the needs of his customers.

“In my current role, I need to be able to support the outside sales staff and help them to be as successful as possible in offering the best products and services to our customers. Because I have ‘been in their shoes,’ I am empathetic to the difficulties that come with the position and I try my best to make their work easier. At the same time, because I have worked on the production side, I can offer insight to our clients as to the best way to accomplish their goals with each project. I try to take a ‘big picture’ view and help them see how we can be as efficient as possible, while offering options that they might not have considered. I believe I am a better team member because I have an understanding of the various challenges everyone faces in accomplishing their daily responsibilities. The most impressive part of our team here at the Print House is the care that everyone here shows for making sure we accomplish our goals. It’s definitely a collaborative group.”

What has impressed me most about the Print House is the commitment from EVERY employee to do their job and do it well. To meet or exceed the client’s expectations is what we are all about. The Print House shares a common trait among the successful companies I have worked for over the years. The companies that treat their customers as friends and their employees like family have been the most successful companies out there. The others are well, just another company. We look forward to working with you and show you the Print House way!
